Unprecedented Unity: How Nursing Leaders Defending Our Identity in Crisis

Though the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PN&MC) has been facing unending crises for years, but the merger with Allied Health Professionals (AHPC) rose as an existential threat to our identity.

Responding to this major threat our renowned leaders Dr. Raisa Gul and Dr. Rafat Jan took the initiative and united all stakeholders at PN&MC Secretariat.

The meeting was chaired by PNMC President Farzana Zulifqar and spearheaded by Dr. Raisa with one-point-agenda. It was attended by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry, DGNs, Controllers, Members of PNMC, Federation/Association Heads from across Pakistan & AJK-GB, and some Deans/Professors of Nursing who joined online.

Thanks to our Leaders-in-Crisis for adopting a participatory approach and successfully drafting consensus documents and the modus operandi for the future course to retain PNMC as Exclusive Body of Nurses & Midwives.

Unprecedented Unity.

Throughout my career I never observed such sober, serene and productive congregations of our community under one roof.

May this unity remain intact and remain intact forever!!!!

New Nurses Uniform by Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (January 2024)

The Pakistan Nursing & Midwifery Council (PNMC) has introduced a new uniform dress code for nurses working in clinical settings across the country. The announcement, in an official letter from the PNMC dated January 31, 2024, stated guidance about professional attire of nursing staff in Pakistan.
