The Minister for Health & Population Welfare Sindh hosted a visiting delegation of various USA States & Pak US Doctors Association led by Deputy Speaker focussing on cooperation between two states to encourage Pakistani nurses who intend to find a job in the USA.
Led byDeputy Speaker Philip Ramos, Assembly Man Alec Kransy, Cristian Marcario & others deliberated and agreed on the following steps necessary for the purpose that serves both States.
1- Liaison between Govt of NY & Sindh to integrate Pak Nursing graduates through Community Nursing Schools in the USA for their accreditation through States' Regulatory Nursing Boards.
2- Establishment of Pak America Nurses Association for liaison between Pak Nurses & Pakistani Nurses Diaspora in USA for better understanding of two service contextual requirements.
3- Assessment and Enhancement of Technical Support to Pakistani Nursing Institution through Public Private Partnership entities of both states.
4- Establishing Nurses Committees in both States to identify gaps and ways to fill that gap through the Refresher Course Pilot Project Process and Evaluation to be lanched in DUHS Karachi & LUMHS Jamshoro.
5- Eminent Nursing leaders Dr. Rafat Jan, Ms.Parveen Imdad, Ms. Rubina Qasim & Shabir Hussain Jhatial participated as delegation from Minister office that included Dr. Dabeer Ahmed Khan, Brig(R) Tarik Lakhiar & Health Department Officials as well.
6- Speaker Mr. Philip Ramos admired the Health Minister's result oriented thoughtful approach for the purpose.
7- PAK-US Doctors Association head said that his seven year initiative in Pakistan became the most significant. He offered to bear the expenses for office in New York City for Pak- American Nurses Association.
8- The Minister thanked the distinguished delegation and offered her continued support for the cause of US-New York delegation terming it beneficial for both state governments.
9-The meeting ended with inauguration of Refresher Course Modules to be offered at DUHS-DIONAM & PNS-LUMHS to equip nurses with advanced nursing practice skills and competencies.
The delegations exchanged visiting cards and clicked group pics during refreshment time arranged by the hosting Minster office.
