If you are a BSN or Post-RN student in Pakistan, you already know the problem. Our textbooks are thick, past papers are hard to find, and most MCQ books repeat the same old questions. When exams come near, we all wish for one thing: more practice questions with clear explanations.
Good news — there is now an app made exactly for us: Pingala Nursing. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install, and you can start free. Open app.pingala.io on your phone or laptop and start practising in seconds.
What is Pingala Nursing?
Pingala is an AI-powered MCQ practice app built around the HEC nursing curriculum used in Pakistan. You choose your program (BSN, Post-RN or MSN), pick your semester and course — for example Adult Health Nursing, Pharmacology or Community Health — and the app gives you fresh, exam-style MCQs for that exact course. It even has a separate section for the older 2011 syllabus, so students of both schemes are covered.
Why students like it
Fresh questions every time. The questions are generated by AI, so you will not keep seeing the same recycled MCQs from old books.
Every option is explained. This is the best part. After you answer, the app tells you not only the correct answer, but also why each wrong option is wrong. This is how real understanding is built — not by memorising answer keys.
Urdu key terms. Difficult English medical terms are explained with Urdu key terms, which makes the explanations much easier to follow. For many of us, English is the biggest barrier in nursing studies — this app understands that.
It adjusts to your level. When you start a new subject, the questions begin a little easier and become harder as you improve. A short diagnostic test finds your weak topics, and the app focuses your practice there.
Visual explanations. Some explanations include small charts and diagrams — for example a gauge showing a normal lab range — so numbers actually make sense.
Track your progress. Sign in with your Google account and the app remembers your scores, shows your readiness for each course, and gives you levels and XP as you practise. There is even a dark mode for late-night study.
How to start (2 minutes)
1. Open app.pingala.io in any browser.
2. Select your program and semester.
3. Choose a course and tap a topic — or take the short diagnostic first.
4. Answer, read the explanation, and keep going. That's it.
What does it cost?
You can start free — daily practice costs nothing, and every course is open to try. For students who spend thousands of rupees on MCQ books every semester, free daily practice alone is a real gift.
Try it before your next test or viva and see the difference explained practice makes. If you find it useful, share the link with your class group — app.pingala.io.
Also from the same team: an NCLEX-RN practice app (nclex.pingala.io) and Porus Matrix, a tool that compares drugs and diseases side by side (porus.pingala.io). We will cover both in upcoming posts.
