Multidisciplinary Exhibition on Nursing-Pharmacy Integrated Care

The College of Nursing - NICH Karachi organized an innovative event "Multidisciplinary Exhibition on Nursing-Pharmacy Integrated Care – A Transformative Approach" at National Institute of Child Health in Karachi. This collaborative event brought together nursing students from CON-NICH, and pharmacy students from Institute of Pharmacy Sciences (IPS-JSMU).

The ademicians and clinicians from NICH, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, JPMC and Korangi CON also participated as Evaluators and Experts in Nursing and Pharmacy Sciences.

This innovative and collaborative event was the brainchild of CON-NICH Principal Ms. Shabana Wazir well supported by Executive Director NICH Professor Nasir Saleem and authorities of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) and JPMC pharma and nursing faculty . The aim of this multi disciplinary caring approach was to ehance holistic care and to improve practices in healthcare settings.

The event featured experts from nursing, pharmacy, pharmaceutical companies, and the medical field who shared their experiences and insights on the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in healthcare industry in the best interests of clients. Ms. Saira Erum, senior faculty of CON set the tone for a day of meaningful exchanges.

The students of both Pharmacy and Nursing participated with Posters Multimedia and presentations which were evaluated by a panel of judges

Nursing students from CON, NICH, secured the first and fourth positions , while Pharm-D students from IPS-JSMU took second and third positions for through their effective and interesting presentations.

The event ended with speech of Professor Nasir Saleem Siddal who acknowledged that nursing doing internship in NICH have not only identified the loopeholes in administration of medicine but have come up with solutions to minimize the human errors. He thanked all the guests and apreciated the CON NICH Principal Shabana Wazir for her innovative approaches of preparing effective nursing workforce and inculcating in them team spirit. He also presented Certificates to Jury of Judges and the Experts in Nursing and Pharmacy Sciences.

The Pakistan Nursing & Midwifery Council (PNMC) has introduced a new uniform dress code for nurses working in clinical settings across the country.
