
The BSN 8th Semester students of Shifa College of Nursing, a constituent of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), organized a groundbreaking seminar titled “AI in Nursing: Revolutionizing Nursing with Artificial Intelligence.” The event was held at the Park Road Campus, Chak Shahzad, and marked a significant step toward student-led innovation in nursing education On Friday, 18th April 2025.

The seminar brought together students, faculty, and healthcare professionals to explore the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in the nursing profession . It aimed to raise awareness about the future landscape of nursing and how technology—especially AI—can enhance critical thinking, patient safety, and decision-making in clinical settings.

Dr. Khalil Ahmed Jatt, a noted nursing academic and advocate of AI in healthcare, was invited as the Guest Speaker. In his address, he shared valuable perspectives on the future of nursing, highlighting how AI can support nurses in delivering more efficient, precise, and patient-centered care. He also reflected on the opportunities and challenges AI presents in both education and clinical environments.

Ms. Somia Saghir, the Course Coordinator, guided and mentored the student team throughout the preparation phase. The event was effectively led by Ms. Farhana Amir (TL), with organizing support from Ms Anmol, Ms. Kainat, Ms. Mariam, Ms Fariha, Ms Faria, and Mr. Farhan. Their teamwork and creativity were evident throughout the seminar.

The students showcased a variety of interactive presentations and short videos, creatively demonstrating real-life use cases of AI in nursing—including patient monitoring, diagnostic support, and virtual health education. These projects reflected deep engagement with the subject and a strong grasp of emerging technological trends.


The seminar also featured an active question-and-answer session, where participants discussed the ethical, practical, and emotional dimensions of AI integration in healthcare. One key topic that generated deep interest was the discussion on potential threats of AI, including job displacement, over -reliance on machines, and data privacy concerns.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, reflecting the vision and commitment of Shifa College of Nursing to nurture future-ready nurses. It also demonstrated the importance of student-led academi c initiatives in shaping progressive healthcare discourse.
