In a bid to spread nutritional awareness among communities, the College of Nursing held an event at its college as part of understanding the importance of Culture Health and Society aligned with the Bachelors of Nursing Curricula.
This student-led academic event held on 29th April was attended by member Provincial Assembly Mr. Ali Jan, Director Nursing Ms. Najma Mangi, Interfaith Hormony Leader Mr. Shafqat Gill,Sindh High Court Bar Leader Mr. Hakim Ali Shar, Medical Superintendent Qatar General Hospital Dr. Rashid Khanzada, Principal CON-NICH Ms. Shabana Wazir, Nursing Leaders Mr. Fazal Wadood, Ms. Ruth Zia and CNS Qatar Gen.Hospital a Ms. Mamtaz Soomro.
The event started as per schedule by 10 a.m and continued till colorful cuisine luncheon prepared and arranged by the students from Sindhi, Punjabi, Pushtoon and Baloch traditional backgrounds.
The Orangi Town MPA Mr. Ali Jan Sahib appreciated the big changes in college in a few years. He praised leadership and dedication of Principal and faculty who instilled life in this nursing college which once was called a ghost nursing school.

He offered every possible support from the Government of Sindh to further uplift this college that was built to develop the poor communities of Asia's biggest poor families housing project :The Orangi Town Pilot Project in the heart of which this college exists.
Before the address of the Chief Guest, Principal Rubina Shar in her welcome address described Orangi Q-CON as Mini Pakistan of all nationalities who bring with them the rich background of our cultures across Pakistan which is evident from the multicultural cuisines, stalls and the nutritional wisdom of our people.
The Director Nursing Sindh Ms.Najama Mangi lauded the students' academic efforts and the fervour that this suburban institute has become like Jangal Mein Mangal.
The M. S Rashid Khanzada offered his fullest support to Qatar-CON in facilitating the change being brought by its leadership.
"Highly appreciated efforts of Principal faculty and students of Q-CON have made this academic event as if a fair." said Principal of CON-NICH Ms. Shabana Nazir.
The multi-cultural presentations by the students at the great auditorium bustled with cultural costumes and traditional music with shirt drams and role plays bout nutritional values.
The distinguished guests also observed and evaluated as honored externals while the faculty of CON-Qatar guided BSN students to prepare nutro-cultural stalls, tabloes and rich color costumes from across four provinces and even GB and AJK.
This memorable academic-cum social event ended with cultural mementos and shields for guests and appreciation certificates to those students who took part and achieved excellence that will have ripple effects among students for a long time to come as a trendsetter academic activity.
I thank all the distinguished guests, reaching to this suburban area and the faculty and above the students who enlivened this event with their unbounding energy.
