نرسنگ، ڈاکٹر کا لقب، اور معاشرتی احترام ۔ تصویر کے دو رخ ڈاکٹر کا لقب پی ایچھ ڈی کی ڈگری حاصل کرنے والوں کو دیا جاتا ہے۔ لیکن کیوں کہ ماضی میں میڈیکل میں پی ایچھ ڈی کی ڈگری نہیں تھی تو کچھ ممالک میں میڈیکل میں اعلیٰ ڈگری کے حامل فزیشنز نے ڈاکٹر کے لقب سے جڑے احترام کی خاطر خود کو ڈاکٹر کہلوانا شروع کر دیا۔ یہاں تک تو ٹھیک، لیکن اب ایم بی بی ایس جیسی بیچلر لیول کی ڈگری کے حامل بھی خود کو ڈاکٹر کہلوا رہے ہیں۔ جب ایسا ہوا تو فارمیسی اور فزیو تھراپی والے بھی خود کو ڈاکٹر کہلوانے میں حق بجانب لگتے ہیں۔ لیکن اصل میں ڈاکٹر کا لقب صرف پی ایچھ ڈی کرنے والوں کے لئیے ہی ہے۔ تصویر کا پہلا رخ یہ ہے کہ جو موجودہ روش کے حساب سے نرسنگ میں بیچلر ڈگری حاصل کرنے والے بھی خود کو ڈاکٹر کہلوانے میں حق بجانب ہیں۔ تو کیوں نا ڈاکٹر آف فارمیسی اور ڈاکٹر آف فزیوتھراپی کی ڈگریوں کی طرح بی ایس این کی ڈگری کا نام معاشرتی احترام کی خاطر ڈاکٹر آف نرسنگ کر دیا جائے؟ اور یوں ہسپتال میں ہر کوالیفائیڈ ہیلتھ کیئر پروفیشنل کو ڈاکٹر کہا جائے لیکن سب کا الگ الگ کام مگر ایک جیسا احترام ہو۔ دوسرا رخ یہ ہے کہ احساس کمتری یا احس...

The Pakistan Nursing & Midwifery Council (PNMC) has introduced a new uniform dress code for nurses working in clinical settings across the country. The announcement, in an official letter from the PNMC dated January 31, 2024, stated guidance about professional attire of nursing staff in Pakistan. The new dress code approved during the 6th session of the council held from January 15-17, 2024, under the leadership of Ms. Farzana Zulfiger, President of PNMC, specifies new uniforms for male and female nurses.
