Pakistani nursing professionals are making headlines at international forums. Ms Sobia Sattar has recently represented Pakistan at the Global Perspectives on Improving Population Health Conference in Liverpool, UK.
In Liverpool, she was invited to share her expertise in the field of nursing and midwifery. In addition, she has also marvelously highlighted the challenges that Pakistani nurses and midwives are facing.
Sobia Sattar, wife of Sattar Brohi, is one of the most competent nurses in Pakistan. Currently, she is working as a head nurse in Federal General Hospital, Chak Shahzad, Islamabad. She got her BScN degree from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (#PIMS), Islamabad and MScN degree with honours from The Aga Khan University (#AKU), Karachi.
Competent nursing professionals, like Sobia Sattar, are sources of pride for Pakistan. Unfortunately, many competent nurses are leaving the country due to multiple reasons. Nurses must receive due to incentives, respect, recognition, and a favourable working environment in Pakistan. A brain drain of nursing professionals is disastrous for Pakistan's ailing healthcare system.
